Majors & Minors

St. Mary's offers a wide and diverse variety of majors and minors.  Take your time in choosing a major or design your own.  Explore. And for many students at the Honors College, one field isn't enough.  The choices are all around you.

Majors provide a depth of knowledge through intensive study in a major field.  By assuming a major, the student goes beyond the introductory level in the chosen field and develops a coherent view of the subject and attains competence in the use of skills appropriate to the discipline.

Many students want to take a concentration of courses within a specific discipline without the intention of majoring in the subject.  Minors at St. Mary's require students to take 18-24 semester-hours in prescribed course work.
