The Office of Academic Services coordinates the faculty advising program and helps all students at St. Mary's, including students with disabilities, those pursuing postgraduate scholarships and fellowships, those completing student-designed majors, and those having academic difficulties.
All students are assigned a faculty adviser, with whom they work to select classes, discuss career options, and explore academic opportunities beyond the classroom such as studying abroad or interning in an academic or occupational area of interest.
The Library and Media Services is a place where you can get help from a librarian, collaborate with other students, find a quiet place to study or just curl up and read a good book. We provide wireless access to the Internet and lend 12 laptops to students. We also have over research 80 databases accessible from anywhere 24/7, and provide class readings electronically. While you are here, visit the Media Center and learn how to produce your own digital videos or use our scanners in the digital labs.
Campus Technology Support Services supports many technology needs on campus. It manages the One Card, ResNet and SmartNet programs, oversees the HelpDesk, supports network operations, campus telecommunications, provides Microsoft software to students at greatly reduced cost through the Maryland Education Enterprise Consortium, and recommends system configurations for student computers.
The Writing Center is open to all students. It is a place where meeting with other writers helps improve writing skills and realizes the student's greater potential as a writer. Trained peer tutors, fellow St. Mary's students, assist students with all writing needs, from understanding an assignment in history class, to generating ideas to support the thesis of a St. Mary's Project, to revising the first draft of a lab report, to proofreading an anthropology paper.
The Campus Store, located in the Campus Center, sells textbooks and supplies for course, lab, and studio work, general reading materials, and other merchandise desired by the campus community. They also operate The Daily Grind, which sells Starbucks coffee and Freshens smoothies, in addition to other convenience food and drink items.
The Office of the Registrar is the office that manages academic records, registration, course and classroom scheduling, grading processes, applications of academic and administrative policy, and processes toward graduation certification.
