
Supplemental Application Materials
Note: Please include your full name on all supplemental application materials.
FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS
- Official Transcripts
- Arrange with your high school and/or other appropriate educational institutions (GED, college, etc.) to have a complete, official transcript sent to the Office of Admissions.
- An Essay
- First-year students should select one of the following topics and type double spaced:
- What is your favorite joke and what does it tell us about your sense of humor?
- About 50% of St. Mary’s College students study abroad. If you could go anywhere in the world as a St. Mary’s student, where would you go and what would you do? How will this experience change you?
- You have the opportunity to teach a course on anything that interests you. What would you teach: a skill, an unusual academic subject or some other topic? How would you share your passion?
- Where you live shapes who you are. Your environment will change when you go to college. How will this change in environment make you a different person?
- First-year students should select one of the following topics and type double spaced:

SAT I and/or ACT scores; TOEFL scores for International Students
- First-year students must have official copies of SATI and/or ACT scores sent separately (St. Mary's ETS code is 5601) if they are not on your high school transcript.

Service and Co-curricular Resume
- Please provide a résumé of your co-curricular involvements and service activities. Give a brief description of those that you consider most important.

Letters of Recommendations (2)
- Letters should be from individuals who know you in an educational setting. Optional: Students may submit up to two additional letters of recommendation from a parent, guardian or peer.
- $40 application fee
- A $40 non-refundable application fee must be received before an application is complete. You may charge the application fee to a credit card using the College's secure site by clicking here.
TRANSFER STUDENTS
- Official Transcripts
- Arrange with appropriate educational institutions (GED, college, etc.) to have a complete official transcript sent to the Office of Admissions. Transfer students who have attended more than one college must have sent official grade transcripts from all colleges attended. Transfer students who have completed fewer than 24 college credits must also submit an official high school transcript and SATI and/or ACT test scores.

- Please type and double space the following transfer student essay: Everyone asks, "Why?" Why do you want to transfer to St. Mary's College of Maryland? What would you bring to St. Mary's that would enhance our community?
- SAT I and/or ACT scores; TOEFL scores for International Students
- Transfer students who have graduated from high school within the last three years and who have earned fewer than 24 college credits must submit SATI and/or ACT scores
